Week 11

LECTURE:
today in the lecture we learnt about data, infomation and knowledge we got a definition for them each which i am going to wright in here for me to remember in the future which is DATA: a fact of proposition INFOMATION: facts or data that have something in common KNOWLEDGE: knowing what had been learnt. all these are very important and they go well together. they all have a massive importace with each other and for them to each work they have to relate with the other two to make a system that is hole proof. we got some examples of each of them to make us see exactly what they are about and how to use each of them well. there was some stratagies for assignment work with using each and they showed us how to smothly bring them in to our reserching process's and how to use them to make our work the best it can be. i believe that this lecture brought everything we have learnt about data and search engines together because it gave us a insite into what is needed to make a assignemtn go together with the right steps.

TUTORIAL:
I looked on the internet to find a dictionary online that I could look up the words DATA, INFOMATION and KNOWLEDGE.
the site I use to look up words is www.dictionary.com from this site I found the words definitions
DATA:individual facts, statistics, or items of information: These data represent the results of our analyses. Data are entered by terminal for immediate processing by the computer.



INFOMATION: knowledge communicated or received concerning a particular fact or circumstance; news: information concerning a crime
KNOWLEDGE:acquaintance with facts, truths, or principles, as from study or investigation; general erudition: knowledge of many things.
this site was good because they also match what was inside my written dictionary.
2.as i didnt attend the lecture today i dont know about the graphical representation section i do intend to ask though to find out.
3. Understanding the relationship between data infomation and knowledge helps me as a university student becuaese each is important in there own way and when you put it all together it is more important they relate with each other and save us time when thinking of ideas.
4.i thought of some organisations that collect infomation from clients or the public. one of these is nova. they colelct infomation online to see how people respond to music they play and things they talk about for feedback. ECU is one they collect infomation about the teachers and units so they can see what is good and what can be improved. most companies will collect infomation from people who are members or people who do it volentarily this is so they can see how they are doing and what they can do to improve things.

READINGS:
Today the online readings were about the relationships between data infomation and knowledge. there sourse was the same as mine which was www.dictionary.com they looked at how they relate with each other to form one. they also had frequently asked questiond which was good because it was answering what i was thinking but couldnt ask because it was a website. the other reading was about literacy and infomation this had some questions to ask when thinkgin about this.
